Introduction

The month of February is Dental Awareness Month.  We will be having someone come and speak to the children about how to and the importance of brushing your teeth and going to the dentist.  We have attached an article about the importance of taking your child to the dentist:

Snow Closings

For all information regarding any closings of the center, please watch WJZ-TV, Channel 13. 

 Winter Weather

Now that we are beginning to feel the temperatures of winter, please make sure you dress your child appropriately. Each class goes outside twice a day, weather permitting.  When it snows some of the classes like to go out and play.  If you would like your child to participate make sure you bring gloves, boots and a hat for your child. Just in case their clothes get wet make sure there is an extra set of clothes in their cubby.  

Welcome to Stepping Stone!

We’d like to welcome all of our new students to our center! We are happy to have you as part of our Stepping Stone Family.

 Valentines Day

Each class will be having a Valentines Day party on February 14^th.  We will be distributing class lists so that you will be able to make Valentines for your child’s class if you choose to do so.  Look for sign up sheets for the parties on each classroom door. 

 Claire’s Gourmet Fundraiser

Stepping Stone will be having a fundraiser beginning on February 15^th through March 7^th.  You can preview what we will be selling at www.clariesgourmet.com.  All the profit will go to the classrooms for activities and games.   The amount each classroom gets will depend on how much the children in each class raise.  All items will be delivered by March 28^th.  The fundraiser brochures and order forms will be placed in your child’s cubby.  If you have any questions please let us know.   Thanks in advance for your participation.  Happy Selling!

 Lunches

Please remember to pack your child’s lunch in a brown paper bag, plastic grocery bag or small reusable bag.  We ask that you not bring lunch boxes or bags in because with the number of children enrolled we do not have enough room to store them in our refrigerator.  Also, please make sure your child’s name is on his/her lunch when you drop off.

 Hallway Rules

There have been an increased number of children running in the hallways. Please make sure that your child walks in and walks out with you each day.  Also, if your child would like a cup of water before they leave in the evening please make sure they drink the water before walking down the hallway.  Recently, we have had children and adults slip on spilled water.  If your child does spill some water please make sure you find a staff member to clean it up for you.  Thank you for your attention these concerns. 

 Themes of the Month

Our themes this month are Trucks, Trains & Airplanes. The Holidays are Valentine’s Day, Presidents Day, and Groundhog Day.  Our letters this month are Aa, Bb and Cc.  For Valentines Day we would like your child to bring in a picture of someone they love on February 9^th.  On February 14^th each class will be having Valentines Day parties.  On Thursday, February 13^th we would like your child to bring in something that begins with the letter A, B or C and on Tuesday the 28^th the children will be looking for trains, trucks and airplanes.  These are fun and educational activities for the children.  Thank you for participating.
